02 Sep Egypt, Hurghada
If you are up for a location that will offer you great beaches, lovely sea, a sight at the ancient history and civilization and a possibility for many adventurous experiences than Egypt definitely should be the country of your choice.
Hurghada is a friendly city which offers a variety of outstanding hotels, most of them have their private beaches. The city itself used to be a fishing village but has become one of the most popular tourist’s destinations in the course of the last twenty years. The people are very hospitable and Sheraton street and the Marina are special places to see. They are the main walking point full of people, restaurants, coffee shops and boutiques. Typical for Egyptian sellers is that the can lower their prices in half and even more than, so bargaining is very common in Hurghada. Also, there is a beautiful mosque worth seeing which is built after the looks of Aja Sophia in Istanbul.
One of the most adventurous things you could do is go on a safari in the Sahara Desert. Various agencies offer a different set of things included in this tour but I would recommend the super safari package with a quad ride, jeep safari ride, a visit to a Beduin village, camel ride, smoking shisha and drinking black tea. This isn’t all, the day trip finishes with a traditional Egyptian dinner and traditional Egyptian show with the popular dances. On leaving, you will have the opportunity to enjoy watching the stars on the Egyptian sky with a telescope.
Cairo and the Pyramids of Giza
Six-hour bus drive or an hour flight is the distance from Hurghada to Cairo, but hardly anyone misses this trip. A visit to the Egyptian museum will give you a first-hand glance at the ancient Egyptian civilization and a cruise on the Nile river will make you fall in love with the mesmerizing Cairo. On the other side of Cairo is Giza and its Pyramids, one of the seven wonders of the world. Absolutely breathtaking. Down the way is the Sphinx of Giza, stop and give Mr Sphinx a kiss :).
These magical islands have the finest sand your feet have ever touched and the cleanest water you’ve ever seen. Indeed, it is a paradise. It takes approximately an hour and a half with a boat to get there from the Hurghada Marina.
Parasailing was personally my favourite experience, floating above the waters of the Red Sea is an unforgettable moment. Snorkelling and diving will make your impression of the Red Sea complete. You will rejoice the beauty of the corals and the variance of fish which is one of the best features of the Red Sea.
In my humble opinion, if you want to fully experience Egypt but as well fully recharge your batteries, ten days is the appropriate amount of time to spend there, so that you can balance between beach and leisure days and exploring the desert days. So, in the next opportunity, book your flight and straight to Egypt.
